What is meant?

The voluntary certification of vegan organic product certifies that organic food products are obtained without the use of substances of animal origin, including primary and secondary packaging materials..

Bios identifies two different types of voluntary labeling to certify vegan products:

 

  • βVegan
  • βVegan+ 

βVegan, first level

It is applicable to 100% processed organic products of plant origin both in the composition of the product and in the used sales packaging.

βVegan+, second level

In addition to the provisions of the first, βVegan+ excludes, during processing, organic raw materials and / or other substances obtained (in the primary production phase) with the use of substances of animal origin.

 

In the event that first level control and certification (βVegan) is required, you need to send:

 

  • Application for certification;
  • Copy of the complete Documentary Evidence, which highlights the activities and products subject to certification of organic production according to current regulations;
  • Flow chart that includes the products undergoing certification;
  • Complete list of all finished products undergoing certification;
  • Detailed list, specific for each finished product, of the format, packaging, sales / shipping units, ingredients, additives, adjuvants, excipients and other substances used in the handling and transformation of products undergoing certification;
  • Technical data sheets of the packaging material used for primary and secondary packaging, labeling, glues / adhesives, etc .;
  • Any test reports referable to the products undergoing certification attesting the non-use, in the transformation process, of substances of animal origin.

 

In the event that second level (βVegan +) is required, in addition to the above, you need to send:

 

  • Complete list of suppliers of ingredients, additives, adjuvants, excipients and other substances used in the handling / transformation of the products subject to certification;
  • Valid βVegan + certificates of the producers of ingredients, additives, adjuvants, excipients and other substances used in the handling / transformation of the products subject to certification.
